On Saturday night all roads lead to The Village Inn, Drumlish for the 39th Annual Fr Manning Gaels Social. Live music on the night by Gerry Keenan. Food served at 9pm sharp. Tickets at €10 available from any committee member.

Club membership is now due from all club members. Fee of €20 is to be paid to club registar Paddy Howe, phone number  0879613312 as soon as possible. Membership covers the use of the gym and entry into the All Ireland ticket draw in september.

Coiste Chontae Longfoirt Gaeltacht Grants

As part of an initiative to help promote the Irish Language within the G.A.A. and the wider community Longford County Board are offering grants of €250 to students to attend Gaeltacht courses. Applicants must be 13 years of age on 1st January 2012 and will be selected by interview in February/March. Closing date for applications is 3rd February.

Fr Manning Gaels are hoping to roll out the new “ Off the Booze and On the Ball” ASAP initative for Gaa Clubs. The challenge invites club members to seek sponsorship to forgo from alcohol for 1 month and also engage in some exercise that helps participants reach recommended weekly activity levels. This ‘Pint Sized Challenge’ is a bit of fun and the perfect opportunity for any club members to kick-start the New Year on a healthy note and help make sure you’re fighting fit once the new season comes knocking.Anyone interested in taking part should contact Club ASAP Officer, Bridie Reilly, on 086 3332863. or Chairman, Packie Duffy on 0868127539. It is hoped to get the initiative rolled out as soon as possible. The money raised from sponsorship raised will be spent on Gym equipment.
